Claude and ChatGPT in group work

In most groups, everyone has their own AI chat. Whatever someone works out gets pasted into the shared doc, and the next person explains the project to their assistant from scratch. With Knyte, everyone’s assistant reads the same sources, decisions and plan.

01Without and with Knyte

WhoWithout KnyteWith Knyte
AlexAsks Claude about the methods chapter and pastes the answer into the doc.Asks Claude, which reads the group’s methods decision and the sources before it answers.
SofiaAsks ChatGPT the same thing, without knowing what Alex got.Asks ChatGPT, which reads the same decision. What it proposes waits until someone in the group has reviewed it.
NoahIs away for a week and doesn’t know which answer the group went with.Opens the knyte and sees what was decided, and why.

02What the assistant can do

Reads
Purpose, sources with page and paragraph text, decisions, tasks and notes.
Contributes
Notes, tasks and proposed findings, always marked as the assistant’s and attributed to the person who used it.
Can’t
Change the purpose, change decisions or confirm findings. That’s yours.

03Connect your assistant

It takes less than a minute.

The address is under Connections in Knyte. You can disconnect whenever you like.

Claude

  1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose “Add custom connector”, paste the address and choose Add.
  3. Sign in to Knyte when Claude asks, and approve the request.
  4. Ask Claude to list your knyten. No answer? Turn on Knyte under + in the chat.

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins in the sidebar, choose Add, then Add custom MCP server.
  2. Name it Knyte and paste the address under Connection.
  3. Tick “I understand and want to continue”, choose Create as a plugin, then sign in to Knyte and approve the request.
  4. Ask ChatGPT to list your knyten. No answer? Turn on the Knyte plugin for the chat.

Other assistants work if they support remote MCP servers with sign-in. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner of the organisation has to add the connector first.

Common questions

What if my assistant can’t connect?
Use Copy for your assistant in the knyte. You get the knyte’s context as text to paste into any chat.
Can others in the group see my chats?
No. They see what your assistant added to the knyte, marked with your name.
Does everyone in the group have to use the same AI?
No. One person can use Claude and another ChatGPT. Both read the same knyte.
Can I use Knyte on my own?
Yes. Then it is you and your AI sharing the same ground.
What does it cost?
It’s free to start: one knyte of your own, two that others started and ten PDFs per knyte. If you need more, a term pass for one person in the group is enough, or a project pass for the knyte.

Give your assistants the same ground.

Start a knyte, invite your group and connect the assistant each of you already uses.
